About Us
Painted Fox Ponies is located in the lower southwestern corner of Michigan. While we haven’t been in the pony business for very long we have always had horses of some kind. Originally Connie owned and showed reining horses both Quarter and Arabian registered. She also showed in Regions 13 and 14 with El Charon, “Barney” in Trail events and was the IAHA Region 14 Champion Arabian Trail Horse in 1989.
Our first showing experiences were at the local level at the Buchanan Westerns shows close to our home. Alyssa’s first horse was a pinto pony Apple Dumpling that was Reserve Grand Champion in Pony Gymkhana in 1997 and Grand Champion in 1998 at the Berrien County Youth Fair. Kim started out with a pleasure horse LCR Ima Two D Too “Lightning” and won just about everything with him.

We bought our first Paint/Pinto in 2000, the same year Kim decided that she wanted to start showing on the Pinto and Paint circuits with Nibblet (Seekers Golden Image). Alyssa soon joined in and began leasing a 14.0 bay overo pinto pony, Splash Me Classy. “Splash” stayed with us for a little over a year before she was returned to her owners but not before Kim won World Champion YA Western Showmanship, Pony in 2001 with her.

We spent about a year showing APHA before noticing a For Sale ad on a bulletin board at a show in Indiana. The advertised horse was Lacey whom we bought and registered as Show Me The Silver. Ever since we have owned and shown pinto ponies and plan to continue on doing so.
